In 2016, the Presidents Wall was unveiled by the University Gateway Corporation. It is a simple, elegant and flexible heritage display located in The Commons area of the McNamara Alumni Center. It chronicles the 16 current and past presidents of the University of Minnesota. It honors those individuals who have presided over the University over its 166-year history as a Land Grant institution providing education, service, and research for the whole state of Minnesota. The Presidents Wall was inspired by a 2015 convocation of the 5 living past Presidents.
